UniSwap acquired NFT marketplace aggregator Genie

UniSwap Labs the principle developer behind the main decentralized protocol UniSwap has acquired the NFT market aggregator Genie. The transfer will additional incorporate NFT performance into UniSwap Labs’ product vary.

In an announcement made by UniSwap on Tuesday, the builders mentioned the transfer will unlock common possession and trade NFTs on the DeFi protocol.

The acquisition of Genie will allow UniSwap to include NFT marketplaces into the UniSwap internet app and in addition combine NFTs into its widgets and APIs. This can make UniSwap a “’comprehensive platform for users and builders in Web3.”

Shopping for and promoting NFTs on UniSwap

Based on a tweet on a tweet thread by UniSwap, the protocol mentioned that folks will be capable of purchase and promote NFTs instantly on the UniSwap internet app beginning this fall.

The tweet reads:

“Starting this fall, you’ll be able to buy and sell NFTs directly on the Uniswap web app. And we’ll integrate NFTs into our developer APIs and widgets, making Uniswap a comprehensive platform for users and builders in web3.”

This isn’t the primary UniSwap is being concerned with NFTs. In 2019, it launched Unisocks, which provides NFT liquidity swimming pools backed by real-world property. Subsequently, the Genie acquisition will go a good distance in bolstering the protocol’s NFT agenda.

USDC Airdrop

In keeping with the Genie acquisition, UniSwap mentioned that it plans a USDC airdrop to historic Genie customers claimable for as much as twelve months.
