A lawsuit filed by the Peoples Democratic Occasion, PDP, to implement the occasion’s zoning and rotatory coverage forward of the 2023 presidential election has been dismissed by the Supreme Courtroom.
The Courtroom on Friday, in a unanimous judgment delivered by Justice Adamu Jauro, struck out the swimsuit on the bottom of lack of jurisdiction to entertain it.
A Presidential aspirant of the PDP and former Deputy Speaker of Abia State Home of Meeting, Hon Cosmos Ndukwe instituted the swimsuit in opposition to his occasion, praying for an order to compel it to uphold the zoning and rotatory coverage of the occasion.
Particularly, the Presidential aspirant hunted for order of the courtroom to compel PDP to zone the nomination of its presidential candidate to the South East geo-political zone of the nation.
Nonetheless, Justice Jauro held that the swimsuit was not justiciable on the bottom that the nomination of candidates for election is an inner affairs of political events.
