Stop Fighting Buhari – Yahaya Bello Tackles 17 Southern Governors

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has warned the Southern Governors against fighting President Muhammadu Buhari or only blaming the Federal Government for Nigeria’s woes.

Speaking while featuring on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme, the Kogi governor said the failure of government is across board.

He warned the southern governors not to heat up the politiy with their misguided utterances.

“Let me caution each and every one of us, leaders across board including governors and all of the leaders across Nigeria that we should be careful about the words we use,” Yahaya Bello warned.

“When we are talking of security, unity and national cohesion of Nigeria, as leaders and politicians, we should be careful about the words we use when we are addressing these various topical issues.

“When it is titled or when it appears as if you are fighting President Muhammadu Buhari, our father and our President, we are all getting it wrong because we get to where we are today as a result of maladministration of successive administrations.

“There have been collective failures across board, so let’s not just blame it alone on the federal government or Mr President.”

Naija News recalls that 17 Southern State Governors had two days back converged on Asaba, Delta State capital, where they made some resolutions and demands from the Federal government.

They demanded a ban on open grazing in the south and urged the president to convene a national dialogue summit, restructure the country.

Other demands included devolution of power, state police and new revenue allocation formula, among others which they believed would abate the cries of secession among different groups in the country.
