Sonia Kruger FINALLY finishes $1 million renovation on her $6.5million Sydney mansion – after months of delay due to Covid

Sonia Kruger has finally completed the $1million renovation on her $6.5million mansion in Sydney’s Mosman.

The 56-year-old and partner Craig McPherson started construction in December 2019, but later regretted their ambitious plans as the pandemic meant their tradies were unable to work for months at a time.

Over the past two years the Big Brother host and the TV executive completely transformed the five bedroom, four bathroom property by rendering the exterior and re-building their third floor.

The third floor now boasts a wrap around balcony, outdoor kitchen, dining table and lounge area.

The top level originally boasted two smaller balconies and a stunning cathedral ceiling inside, which was knocked down to build their sleek new al-fresco space.

They have also built a porch with an additional outdoor dining table and lounge on the ground floor terrace, which leads down to the family’s perfectly maintained lawn and swimming pool.

In May 2020, Craig, who is Channel Seven’s head of news and current affairs, told The Daily Telegraph he regretted starting the renovation but it was ‘too late to go back’.

‘Had [coronavirus] happened before we decided to go ahead… there’s no way we would have done it. It’s possibly the worst time to be doing anything like this.’

‘But we started the process six months ago and it’s too late to go back.’

It was previously estimated that the huge renovation cost the couple $1million.

Sonia and Craig purchased the beachside property for $6.5million in 2015, and initially planned on completing the renovation in 2017 but abandoned their plans amid a neighbourhood dispute.

It was reported at the time that locals opposed their grand plans, complaining that their re-designed top floor would obstruct neighbours’ views of Balmoral Beach.
