How to pass Post UTME 2020 excellently without cheating.
Post UTME as the name implies, is the examination conducted for admission seekers, after writing and passing the main JAMB Examinations.
Unlike the main JAMB UTME, Post UTME is solely conducted by individual tertiary institutions.
Although, each institution sets a cut off mark for aspirants to ascertain if they are eligible to sit for POST UTME.

Out of approximately 2 million candidates who sat (will sit) for JAMB exams this year (2020), don’t be surprised that just thirty percent [30%] of this number will be admitted into various tertiary institutions across the country (excluding private institutions).
This is simply because of the alarming rate of post UTME failures.
Some aspirants score very high in the main UTME, but still get kicked out by the post UTME.
They either get their dream courses changed or never even get admitted. What is the cause?… It is simply because aspirants don’t know how this post UTME works.
The amazing fact is that not all schools conduct examinations as their Post UTME; Some do only screening i.e they collate your WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and other credentials, to finally arrive at your aggregate score.
This aggregate is now the instrument being used in the whole admission process.

#1. Get past questions
Don’t get this wrong, past questions don’t tell you what you’ll see in the examination. Rather, they provide clues on the areas to expect questions from.
Questions are repeated every year, and these questions belong to specific areas of respective subjects.
They let you know where to focus on during your reading.
Therefore, you are advised to get past questions of your choice of university, immediately after seeing your JAMB result.

You can also get it now, of you are sure you are going to write the Post UTME of the institutions you selected while registering for JAMB.
The good news is you can write the post UTME of the schools you picked during your registration.
So if you picked two schools, you can apply for their post UTME and get past questions.
And i did not say that you should rely on past questions.
Also, read your textbooks and apart from post utme past questions; use jamb past questions simultaneously.
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
Just do all you need to do for the exam to be a success.
#2. Nature of Examinations
Some institutions like the University of Ibadan conduct written examinations for aspirants, while others like Olabisi Onabanjo University use the CBT system, which was used in JAMB for the post UTME exams.
So, by now, you should know the method your choice of school uses so as to get prepared for it.
If your school uses the CBT system, get yourself acquainted with the basics of the computer system, and practice lots of past questions with CBT.
#3. Punctuality
This is a very big factor affecting the success rates of any exam. It is advisable to get to your examination centre at least one (1) hour before the examination commences. This helps you get familiar with the environment and also relaxes the brain of any fear or tension which may seem to arise at any point in time.
#4. Expand your scope in General Studies
After observing the post UTME questions of several institutions, I’ve come to realise that most of them have something in common — General Studies.
As the name implies, everyone is meant to have an idea about this, irrespective of your department.
Therefore it is of great use to get as much General Studies questions as possible.
This brings us back to the first point –Usage of past questions.
General studies questions are also embedded in the past questions booklet and also guide us on what we need to know.
Conclusion
Getting ready to draw the curtain, you can only qualify for your school’s post UTME, after successfully beating the JAMB cut-off mark, so it is pretty wise to work hard and have a very good JAMB score.
This will help a lot when calculating the aggregate score of candidates.
Thanks for staying till the end. I wish you success in all your examinations.
