Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have a shared love of 1993 film True Romance, often referencing lines from the movie in their loved-up Instagram posts.

Last week, the couple enjoyed a romantic beach movie night in Mexico, with the reality star, 42, dressing similar to Patricia Arquette’s character Alabama Whitman.

The outing comes after Travis’ ex-wife Shanna Shanna Moakler accused the Blink 182 drummer of copying their relationship for romantic moments with his new girlfriend, with True Romance having been the theme of their 2004 wedding.

In romantic posts shared to both Kourtney and Travis’ Instagrams, the eldest Kardashian sister revealed her toned frame in a red slip dress and cowboy boots.

Having recently chopped off her long locks, the Poosh co-founder appeared to have found inspiration in the film’s character Alabama, who wore an iconic red dress.

Earlier this year, Shanna made headlines when she said she found it ‘weird’ Travis and Kourtney were bonding over a film that played significantly in her marriage.

‘What was weird is that they were posting about a movie that Travis and I basically bonded over,’ she said in an interview with Us Weekly while referencing an Instagram post of theirs.

She was referring to True Romance which starred Christian Slater as Clarence Worley and Patricia as Alabama, directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino.

Shanna recalled: ‘I called him Clarence in the movie. We named our daughter after the character Alabama in the movie. I walked down the aisle to You’re So Cool from True Romance. Our first dance at our wedding was to the love song.’

The former Playmate also mentioned Kourtney’s birthday in April when Travis had a plane drag a banner overhead reading: ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOURTNEY’.

‘Then, like, having the banner fly over, which is documented in our TV show, Meet the Barkers. I just said that I thought it was kind of weird,’ said Shanna.

She also insisted that she was unbothered by Kourtney and Travis engaging in public displays of affection on social media.

The musician shared an Instagram video of him working on his right thigh with a tattoo needle, inscribing the words ‘You’re so cool!’, a line from the movie.

Travis, who has tattoos covering his whole body including his face and all over his scalp, replicated the note that Alabama (Patricia Arquette) wrote for Clarence (Christian Slater) on a hotel napkin in the 1993 movie.

‘You’re so cool’ is also the title of the love theme by composer Hans Zimmer.
