A 28-year-old man recognized as Mr Badamasi Abubakar has pleaded responsible to lifting a lady’s veil with out her consent.
The suspect who lives in Dan Marke Hotoro Quarters, Kano, was arraigned at a Sharia Courtroom on Thursday, June 23 and remanded at a correction centre in Kano.
The decide, Ismai’l Muhammed-Ahmed, adjourned the matter till July 27 for sentence.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Inspector Abdul Wada, advised the court docket that Summaiya Abdul of Dan Marke Hotoro Quarters, reported the matter on the Hotoro Police Station on June 21.
The prosecutor stated that the complainant alleged that at about 4:00 p.m. The defendant lifted her veil with out her consent and when she confronted him, he slapped her.
Mr. Wada stated the offence contravened the provisions of sections 165 and 166 of the Penal Code.
