They finished in second place during Monday’s dramatic final.
And now Love Island’s Toby Aromolaran has declared he will remain firmly loyal to Chloe – despite his lothario antics on the show – as the blonde beauty revealed she wants to get married ‘imminently’ at the main villa.
The professional footballer, 22, had a rollercoaster romance with Chloe, 25, after they built a connection behind Kaz Kamwi‘s back, before he decided to pursue Abigail Rawlings and Mary Bedford, much to her dismay.
‘I’ve got tunnel vision now’: Love Island’s Toby Aromolaran has declared he will remain firmly loyal to Chloe – despite his lothario antics on the show – as the blonde beauty revealed she wants to get married ‘imminently’ at the main villa
However, they managed to rekindle their flame when Toby returned from Casa Amor and realised he still had feelings for the marketing executive.
Their budding romance culminated on Monday’s episode when he asked her to be his girlfriend, and in their first interview after leaving the show, Toby insists there is no turning back.
‘I’m in a relationship now,’ he asserted. ‘It’s a different status. I’ve got tunnel vision and I only see one way. I don’t see 360 anymore so… I can only see straight, I can’t turn to the left and right anymore – that’s my capabilities.’
When asked if a proposal is around the corner for the couple, Chloe responded: ‘Like imminently!’ to which Toby bantered: ‘You’re [Chloe] going to be proposing.’
Love: The professional footballer, 22, and Chloe’s, 25, budding romance culminated on Monday’s episode when he asked her to be his girlfriend, and in their first interview after leaving the show, Toby insists there is no turning back
The blonde beauty vowed: ‘I would never!’ with her boyfriend joking: ‘She’s going to have to pop the question if she wants to pop it and then see if she’s going to get the right answer or what.’
Providing a more serious response, Toby added: ‘I want to be married in the future, yeah definitely,’ while Chloe admitted she hopes for a ‘flamboyant’ proposal.
When asked whether there will be any references to Love Island when they tie the knot, Chloe announced: ‘It’s going to be at the Love Island villa I think!’
The pair didn’t get the opportunity to take home the £50k prize money on Monday’s episode as Millie Court and Liam Reardon beat them to first place, based on the viewers’ votes.
In typical Love Island fashion, Millie had the option to keep the cash for herself and leave Liam with nothing, or split it evenly between them – which is the option she ultimately chose.
Focus: ‘I’m in a relationship now,’ he asserted. ‘It’s a different status, I’ve got tunnel vision and I only see one way. I don’t see 360 anymore so… I can only see straight’
Despite placing as runners-up, Toby insisted he would have split the cash with his love if they were crowned the winners.
‘Nah, it was always going to be a split. Split, split, split!’ he said while Chloe added: ‘So we can buy a house! And get married.’
The couple revealed they plan on remaining close to one another with Chloe relocating from Bicester to Essex.
‘I’m going home for a bit and then I think I’m going to move to Essex with some of the [Love Island] girls, that’s the plan,’ she confirmed.
Toby remarked: ‘Well I’m in Essex, she says she’s moving to Essex so it all worked out for me in the end!’
The professional footballer was criticised during his stint in the villa for his lothario behaviour.
However, he eventually won fans over after professing his feelings for Chloe and learning from his mistakes.
Reflecting on his decision to pursue Abi and Mary, despite building a connection with Chloe, he stated: ‘Well, throughout the whole journey I was true to myself and the next step is being true to myself.’
When asked if they feel they have gotten past the hurdles that previously hindered their relationship, Toby confidently replied: ‘Yeah 100%. We’re stronger now than ever.’
He also revealed the biggest lesson learnt from his time on Love Island and said: ‘Oh my gosh. That girls think very differently to boys! Yes, about everything! If you think it’s alright, it’s probably not alright.’
Looking ahead: Toby added: ‘I want to be married in the future, yeah definitely,’ while Chloe admitted she hopes for a ‘flamboyant’ proposal
Meanwhile Chloe explained why her relationship with Toby exceeds all of her previous romances.
‘Because all we do is laugh or snog,’ she said. ‘And that’s all you want in a relationship. And sometimes a bit of a serious chat. But if not, laughing and snogging that’s all you need!’
At the end of the summer ball on Monday’s episode, Toby shocked the villa by asking Chloe to be his girlfriend, marking the first time he’s ever asked a girl this.
Chloe and Toby took to the stage to make their declarations to one another, with Chloe saying: ‘Toby. Who would have thought that me and you would have made it all this way? From the first snog on the terrace to the bootylicious challenge, it’s clear we’ve always had an amazing connection.’
He complimented the blonde beauty and candidly revealed his feelings before asking: ‘Chloe – will you be my girlfriend?’
Remembering the touching moment, the Bicester bombshell gushed: ‘It was my favourite moment I think as I didn’t see it coming and it was like the nicest speech ever so I thought it was great.
‘And then when he said it I was like, “Oh my god!” I didn’t think he would do it. We hadn’t spoken about it. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, we’re not very good at the serious chat situations.’
Meanwhile Toby admitted: ‘I was thinking about it for time… for time! I was thinking, “Should I do it, when to do it?” Everything. I was thinking on the final date, and then I was thinking “Hmm nah.”‘
Location sorted: When asked whether there will be any references to Love Island when they tie the knot, Chloe announced: ‘It’s going to be at the Love Island villa I think!’
Chloe added: ‘Faye and Teddy did it [on their final date] and I made a comment when they came back, “Oh if anyone else becomes boyfriend and girlfriend, it’s copying!”‘
Her boyfriend concurred: ‘Yeah, so I was like [there’s] no chance now! So the next chance was that time and I thought, “You know what, in a love declaration – let’s end it with that!”‘
With it being the first relationship he has ever experienced, Toby offered his words of wisdom for other couples.
‘Don’t fear it, embrace it! Yeah! That was good,’ he said, satisfied with his advice before Chloe critiqued his answer: ‘Quite vague as well, isn’t it.’
Toby responded: ‘Yeah it could mean anything so they take what they wanna take from that!’
Detailing her dream date, which she plans to do now they’re out of the villa, the marketing executive said: ‘I wanna do a bottomless brunch in an arcade and you [Toby] want to go to the F1 in Monaco on a yacht! So we’re going to try do it all in one.’
Toby echoed her sentiments: ‘Yeah we’ll do it all in one day,’ before Chloe stated: ‘We’ll have a big day out in Monaco. I love bottomless brunch and he loves arcades! I love arcades. I always said that would be my perfect date.’
On what other events they are looking forward to experiencing together, Chloe revealed: ‘Mine is to invite Toby to Christmas so he can do karaoke.
‘That’s the biggest event of the year in our household. I sing Call Me by Blondie every year.’
With hopes of doing a duet together amid the festivities, Toby commented: ‘I’ll just be there with the ad libs. I don’t have a karaoke song but I’m adaptable so I can sing any song. On the spot just give me a song and I’ll sing it.’
Head turned: Toby had a rollercoaster romance with Chloe after they built a connection behind Kaz Kamwi’s back, before he decided to pursue Abigail Rawlings (pictured) and Mary Bedford, much to her dismay
On an important note, Toby is looking forward to introducing Chloe to the rest of his family. He said: ‘She’s obviously seen my mum and sister so the next step is dad and brother, and the dog. So that’s the next step! And then the rest of the family comes later. I can’t wait.’
According to the professional footballer, he is gearing up to have Chloe watch him at a game, but only when he’s squeezed in some practice first.
‘Yeah I’ve got to get back to pre-season first before she can watch me play!’ Toby said.
He continued: ‘Judging by the football the Islanders saw [from me], I need to get back to pre-season and it could be a long three months getting back to fitness before going back to football and then she can come and watch a game. Not at first though!’
On what sort of fan she will be, Chloe remarked: ‘Remember those big horn things they had in the World Cup? I’ll get one of those and I’ll be wearing a big glittery outfit.’
The couple enjoyed an Alice in Wonderland themed picnic in the woods on Sunday night’s episode of Love Island, marking their final date on the show.
The picturesque location was adorned with pictures of them from their time together and a delightful selection of tasty treats.
According to Chloe, it was one of their favourite moments on the show as she said: ‘Mine was the picnic they did for me, or the speech – one of those, they were my favourite moments ever,’ with her boyfriend agreeing: ‘Mine is the picnic, or coming second.’
Love Island voting figures revealed Millie and Liam scored an impressive 42.02% of the final public’s votes, made via the show’s mobile app, while Chloe and Toby earned 30.85% of votes.
Meanwhile Faye Winter and Teddy Soares saw 14.85% of users voting for them, landing them in third place. And Kaz Kamwi and Tyler Cruickshank, who were the first of the four finalists to be booted from the villa, received 12.27% of the votes.
Lothario: However, they managed to rekindle their flame when Toby returned from Casa Amor with Mary (pictured) and realised he still had feelings for the marketing executive
Revealing how she felt about finishing in second place, Chloe commented: ‘I thought it was amazing. Best thing ever. Especially to be in the final with Millie and Liam. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.’
Toby agreed: ‘I think when you’re on your journey, when you meet someone, you don’t think about the final. So being there was surreal, and being second was the cherry on the top of the cake. Because everything after finding Chloe was just a bonus.’
The couple lauded the 2021 winners as Chloe declared: ‘I love that they won! I absolutely love it. Rightfully so! If it wasn’t us, we would like it to be them.’
Toby continued: ‘[We’re] the awesome foursome, so we’ve got to represent for us,’ as his girlfriend interjected: ‘Yeah we’re over the moon that they won!’
When asked if she can see their relationship going the distance in the real world, the marketing executive asserted: ‘100%, one million per cent. I can’t see them with anyone else to be honest.’
Toby quipped: ‘One MILLIAM percent!’ In their first interview since leaving the villa, Millie, 24, and the 22-year-old bricklayer also discussed their marriage plans and moving in together.
Despite Liam’s scandal at Casa Amor, which saw him kiss Lillie Haynes while Millie remained faithful at the main villa, the loyal lady confirmed she plans on spending both the prize money and her life with the Welsh native.
When discussing if they expect an invite to their proposed nuptials, Chloe remarked: ‘Invited? I’ll be maid of honour! We all started our journeys together on the day bed on the same day in time, so to see us all in the final- it’s like we’ll definitely be in each other’s lives.’
The Bicester native also announced she expects the 2021 winners will play an integral part on her big day. ‘100% [Millie will be maid of honour]’ she said. ‘And Liam can officiate!’
No regrets: Reflecting on his controversial behaviour, Toby said: ‘Well, throughout the whole journey I was true to myself and the next step is being true to myself’
