Ed Sheeran reveled he was styled by his pal Elton John as he wore an eye-catching Versace jacket chosen by the music legend to attend the 2021 GQ Men Of The Year Awards on Wednesday.
The hitmaker, 30, boasted a rainbow coloured jacket in the designer’s signature print as he walked the red carpet in London‘s Tate Modern.
Ed, who won Solo Artist Of The Year at the star-studded awards, cut a dapper figure in the ensemble despite admitting that fact that he usually finds wearing a suit uncomfortable.

He told The Sun: ‘It’s weird, I’ve always hated suits and they make me feel uncomfortable — and yet something like this makes me feel all right because it’s so out-there.’
‘Elton hooked me up with Donatella Versace and I thought, “Let’s go for it! It’s a big night and it’s great to be back out, so why not?”‘
He added: ‘[Elton] has been sl*gging off my boring wardrobe for years. I’m not really a fashion guy but I’ve had to start to show an interest – he loves it. Elton approved — it’s very him.’
Ed paired the number with a simple black skinny tie, a white shirt and black trousers as he made his way down the red carpet.

The hitmaker was later presented an award by his friend Stormzy for the Solo Artist of the Year award.
Ed announced last month this that his upcoming studio album =, which is pronounced equals, is set to be released on Oct. 29.
He unveiled his 14-song track list on Thursday, which includes his emotionally charged track Visiting Hours.

The Thinking Out Loud hitmaker detailed how the album is ‘really personal’ and confirmed he sees the piece as his ‘coming-of-age record’, having become a father and tied the knot since he last released an album.
The 24th GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2021 in association with BOSS saw a slew of stars scooping top prizes on Wednesday night as the ceremony saw the return of in-person attendees following the Covid pandemic.
The star-studded ceremony was hosted by actor Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina, with presenters including Winnie Harlow, Gary Lineker, Emma Corrin and Mabel announcing the winners of the coveted awards.

Other prizes also include membership to the prestigious Ivy Club, a luxury facial with Fatma Shaheen, founder of Skin Design London, and an array of skincare delights.
It had been previously announced that Sir Anthony Hopkins would receive The Legend Award, and ahead of the ceremony the Oscar winner gave an interview with the publication.
During the interview he urged budding actors ‘not to waste their money’ on acting school.

Raff Law was in attendance with his girlfriend Hana Cross, while Alexa Chung looked stunning in a blue and purple sequined dress.
