Four-year-old girl drowns in a kayaking accident after he is pulled unresponsive from a river

  •  A four-year-old toddler has tragically died in a kayaking accident in NSW 

A four-year old girl has died after being pulled unresponsive from the water north of Newcastle in New South Wales after a kayaking accident. 

The child was on the water at Mallabula Point in Port Stephens on Tuesday afternoon about 2.30pm when the incident unfolded. 

Paramedics rushed the toddler to John Hunter Hospital after she suffered a cardiac arrest but she could not be revived, reports 7 News.

A 35-year-old woman was also treated by ambulance officers at the scene and is in a stable condition.
