The Inspector-Normal of Police, Usman Baba has disclosed that 34,587 cops can be deployed to Anambra for the state’s Nov. 6 governorship election.
Baba stated that the over 30,000 officers would include typical cops, Police Cellular Drive, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, Particular Forces, Explosive Ordnance Unit, Drive Intelligence Bureau, INTERPOL, Particular Safety Unit and a medical staff.
The helicopters can be deployed for aerial surveillance whereas detachments of Marine Police operatives would even be deployed for an itch-free election within the state.
Based on the IGP, the deployment was crucial after the election safety risk evaluation performed by the Drive Intelligence Bureau.
The police chief stated the deployment is to create a conducive and enabling surroundings that may assure the peaceable conduct of the election.
